The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells

"No one would have believed in the last years of the nineteenth century that his world was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than man´s and yet as mortal as his own; that as men busied themselves about their various concerns they were scrutinized and studied, perhaps almost as narrowly as a man with a microscope might scrutinise the transient creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water." (Wells, H.G.  p.10)
Herbert George Wells
With a magnificent entrance into the world of science fiction novels, Herbert George Wells presents "The Wart of the Worlds", a classic that will not only make you imagine the creative mind of the author, but it will teleport you into the adventures and perspectives that Wells, as a narrator and main character, has in the book.

As the title tells, the book talks about  a war between two worlds, talks about the interdimensional relationships between Earth and Mars, a planet inhabited by desperate Martians (or aliens) which objective is to find a new world in which the could live.
As your common sense will know, the Martians choose Earth as their best source of life and, from this choosing, the main character narrates specific observations of the invasion, he connects his mind collections of data to give everything an explanation, an objective explanation.
With the non-sufficient data that the main character and the rest of the world have at that time (1904) about scientific deduction, the Martians take the lead. Humanity start getting stocked with a big dilemma: Is the gun attack to Martian´s community the best solution to keep dominating Earth or is it the hiding and the boldness the things that will make human race survive?

Even though the typical story of an invasion to Earth is very well known and captured by the public, it not justify the way in which "The War of the Worlds" is written. Perhaps you already are infected by the ordinary way in which visual communication and entertainment presents the alien invasions, so I must remind you, dear reader, that this book is not "The Advangers", this book is not "Men in Black", neither it is "Starship Troopers". "The War of the Worlds" is the beginning of the alien myth, is the base of literature modern creations. Many people have idleness; feel scared and disinterested  for the classic books, only a few are the brave ones that dare to submerge on the first letters of literary stories. So, I will ask you dear reader: Do you dare to venture into classic science fiction?
"The past is but the past of a beginning"
- H.G. Wells
